Oil on Canvas.  9'x4'

the idea of light has been concretely in my head for some time.  In the case of the latter pastel, Light Bulb it serves as an actual light however in Viridian Pheonix it is like a tumor not a light and from the head grow thoughts can develop often in two ways.  In contemporary music this can often be appreciated as in Arc and Green by Takemitsu but like de Kooning, in painting, the medium with darkness shares its own light specifically but in a variety of ways.

the eventual completion of this picture led to a far brighter, more surreal set of colors.

Both these drawings were made on toned paper, gray mainly, highlighted with white, and touched up with color over a long period of time.  Both of them were destroyed in the fire.

Only the imaginary portrait exists.  The nude was destroyed in a fire.

Art is an angelic being.  So was my ex.

First: Jung with pipe in mouth.

Second, I actually did smoke a pipe and that is why her eyes are so damn blue!

Both heads are slightly larger than life.  Think of a large football that only a giant would toss.

Sophistication of light is necessary for the proper manipulation of tone is the essence of every line running throughout what I call 'Light Drawings'.

this painting exists only in digital format.  I created it once but found myself disgusted by the horror of my past existence.

The painting was six feet by 28 inches or possibly 26.

Full size giclee prints, signed by the artist are available.

A vision into my future.  Painted live for an event, the central image is pasted directly on to the picture adn the additions were made to remember the way I had once dreamed of painting the same image but with out all the original surreal imagery.  And so there it was, dripping like coffee, onto my open back.

"Holy is my desire, broken are the lies,
Twisted are my eyes, she has seen
The glory but not thy fate,
Succumbing to a need not known."
-angelic murmurs...whispered in a land where none exist.

"I can hear you call now," he, by chance, answered and with a light kiss to the lips, parted,
not knowing when the next bus was scheduled to arrive or whether he would take the train or a plane or whether his feet would bring him as far as he might need.  So he left with a flashlight in hand, aiming to find his way where all had gone but none had returned and then answered her call, as if from afar,
and she laughed not knowing the way, stumbling once, then twice and finally a third sent her catapulting from a high cliff and into the night his memory vanished and so did she.  Carrying a gun in his hand he held it near his temples and asked a god for forgiveness and, trembling, pulled the trigger, and all was still and none was heard and in the night his vision had cleared and from the walls of a point he could not see he saw the swooping forms of her ivory arms reaching down to him and let his head rest there, once more.- Trius Art

A few drops of blood splash from my nose to the table floor and one tear from the eye that bled the same.  Your ears are long and pointed.  The arrows are sharp.  My mind, a razor like precision, now is dull from drink, wine, paint, cigarettes and memories of your laughter. - Trius Art
